PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, headquartered in Andalusia, AL, is a generation and transmission (G&T) electric cooperative serving the wholesale power needs of 20 distribution members – 16 electric cooperatives and four municipal electric systems – in Alabama and northwest Florida. Today, PowerSouth remains a trusted energy provider for our member systems, who serve end-use consumers in 39 counties in Alabama and ten counties in Florida.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design facilities to be utilized in the generation, transmission, or distribution of electrical power to ensure members of a reliable power supply
Review and write specifications for equipment used on PowerSouth’s system to ensure PowerSouth equipment meets industry standards
Perform engineering calculations utilizing standard engineering formulas or computer techniques to ensure proper design and operation of PowerSouth’s system
Complete special projects such as evaluating equipment or developing software to enable PowerSouth to be more efficient in the future
Ensuring the success of PowerSouth by promoting team work, group goals and objectives, proper communication and cooperation within the department, division, throughout the PowerSouth organization and with member systems
Requirements
JOB SUMMARY & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The purpose of this position is to provide support in the Engineering & Operations Division. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
