Monitoring Analytics is a consulting company whose primary function is to serve as the Independent Market Monitor for PJM Interconnection, L.L.C. (PJM). PJM operates a centrally dispatched, competitive wholesale electric power market covering 13 states and the District of Columbia, coordinates and directs the operation of the transmission grid, and plans for transmission system expansion to maintain grid reliability. Federal regulations require that PJM have a market monitoring organization dedicated to monitoring the electricity markets to ensure that market rules and market participants’ conduct are consistent with the public interest in competitive and efficient markets. Monitoring Analytics also performs market monitoring, economic consulting and related work for other clients, consistent with our conflict of interest standards.
