Wolverine Power Cooperative
Company Overview
Wolverine Power Cooperative is a not-for-profit, member-owned generation and electric transmission cooperative headquartered in Northern Lower Michigan and has employees spread throughout the northern half of the state. Wolverine was formed January 1, 1983, resulting from a merger of Wolverine Electric Cooperative and Northern Michigan Electric Cooperative. Wolverine serves member-cooperatives with nearly 1,600 miles of bulk transmission line, maintains 130 distribution and 36 transmission substations located throughout its transmission system. Wolverine also owns and operates five electric generating facilities capable of producing 200 megawatts of internal generation, primarily peaking capacity.
